Dear Shelter Islander:
It’s that time of year when I ask for your support of the Shelter Island Association by becoming a member. You may ask what we do and why your support is important. As we approach our 50th anniversary, the Association is the only bi-partisan civic organization that represents the interests of all the Island communities. Issues, elected officials and times may change, but there is a continuing need to work together to protect the unique quality of life we enjoy on Shelter Island.
The Shelter Island Association comprises volunteers and representatives from the 14 neighborhood associations. Our objective is to provide a unified voice that ensures there is a focus on critical issues and information is available to make decisions and find solutions. Deer and ticks, helicopter noise, water quality and town budgets are just some of the areas where we have played an active role.
If you are not a member of the Shelter Island Association, please consider joining and adding your voice to the work we are doing on behalf of the Island. If you already are a member, thank you for your past support, and please renew you membership at this time. Dues are only $20 per year. Additional donations are appreciated.
T. M. Hogue
President, Board of Trustees
